01
Free Assessment
We visit your property, inspect the spray foam with a thermal imaging camera and moisture meter, and identify any timber rot or trapped moisture. You get a written quote the same day, usually within two hours of the visit. We also check whether the foam is open cell or closed cell, as that affects the blasting pressure we use.
02
Site Protection
On the day of removal, we seal off the work area with polythene sheeting and set up a negative air machine to stop dust spreading through the house. We lay protective floor coverings and mask any vents or electrical fittings. This takes about 45 minutes on a typical loft job.
03
Dry Ice Blasting
Our technicians wear full PPE including respirators, coveralls and gloves. We blast the foam with dry ice pellets at -78.5C, working in sections. The foam freezes, cracks and falls away. An industrial vacuum runs alongside to capture debris. A 40 square metre loft takes four to six hours.
04
Detailed Cleanup
Once the foam is gone, we vacuum every surface and run an air scrubber to remove airborne particles. We check the timbers with a moisture meter and take thermal images to confirm no foam residue remains. The area is left clean and ready for new insulation or a surveyor's inspection.
05
Report and Handover
We provide a written report with before and after photos, moisture readings and a description of the methods used. If you need documentation for a lender or surveyor, we can format it to their requirements. We also give you advice on ventilation and next steps for your roof.
